Flipkart has acquired a minority stake in TravClan, a global B2B travel technology platform, as the e-commerce company looks to strengthen international holiday offerings across Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
TravClan operates an outbound leisure travel platform with direct supplier relationships across domestic and international destinations. Its technology is used by 15,000+ travel agents to customise and book holiday packages, hotels and activities, supported by 24/7 on-ground assistance.
Through the investment, Flipkart will gain access to TravClan's global supplier network, technology and destination operations. This will allow Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel to offer a wider range of international holiday packages along with local support during customers' trips.
TravClan plans to use the new capital to expand its global travel supply, technology and destination operations, while growing teams across business development, engineering and operations.
The move comes as India's outbound travel market continues to expand, with more Indian consumers taking international trips. TravClan's direct supplier relationships and local destination teams are intended to help deliver competitive pricing and more reliable travel experiences.
Why it matters: The deal strengthens Flipkart's position in the travel sector by combining Cleartrip's consumer reach with TravClan's B2B travel network and international supply infrastructure. It also highlights the growing role of B2B travel-tech platforms in powering consumer travel experiences.
