MicroSalt plc reported record revenue of US$1.4 million for the first half of 2026, representing a 67% increase from US$0.8 million in H1 2025. The growth was driven largely by increased bulk B2B sales to food manufacturers.

The low-sodium salt technology company also improved its gross margin to 12%, compared with just 1% a year earlier, while its net loss narrowed to US$1.5 million from US$1.9 million. MicroSalt said it expanded its customer base and gained approved-supplier status with FMCG and ingredient companies.

During the period, products using MicroSalt's technology accounted for approximately 1.4 billion servings globally. The company is increasingly focusing on bulk sales to major food manufacturers, where its technology can help brands reduce sodium while maintaining a similar taste profile.

Strong B2B Pipeline

MicroSalt is in advanced discussions with major food manufacturers, including a significant customer opportunity that could contribute approximately US$3.1 million in the second half of 2026. If the rollout proceeds as expected, the company estimates full-year 2026 revenue could reach US$4.5 million.

Looking ahead, management is targeting US$15 million in sales for FY2027, supported by its growing B2B pipeline and new products such as MicroSalt Premium and MicroSalt Fibre.

Why it matters: MicroSalt's results highlight how B2B partnerships with large food manufacturers can become a major growth engine for specialised food-tech companies. Moving from consumer sales toward bulk commercial adoption could provide larger volumes, recurring demand and stronger revenue visibility.
